Ramkalawan’s sinking katiolo!

 

The news that David Pierre had suddenly jumped overboard from the sinking “Katiolo” of Wavel Ramkalawan and his colony of white termites, did not shock many in the political know.
It did, however, shock Ramkalawan himself who sulked in disbelief and, flabbergasted, muttered how it was the wrong move at the wrong time for David Pierre, the self-styled Judas Escariot.
Every single supporter who defects from the SNP is in agreement. The problem of that party is the leader - the “devilish” priest who does not practise what he preaches, a chief who does not show compassion even if he purports to be compassionate, a trailblazer that does not believe in democracy even if he blows false notes of democracy from his trumpet, a leader who has proven to be lazy, rude and vile and who does not lead by example.
After so many defections from that party, the question on the lips of many is: Who will be the next one to go? Will it be Ferrari? Will it be the Georges? Will it be Mancienne?
Oh, no! Nothing of the sort will happen! Termites of the same colony flock together. It will not be Ferrari. It will not be the Georges. It will not be Mancienne or Dyer. It will not be Eischler either. It will be no other than Ramkalawan himself.
His cane is being prepared by his undisciplined disciples and when his whipping starts on the 22nd of May 2011, after he will have suffered the most humiliating defeat in his life, his moaning and groaning will be heard all over the hills of St Louis.
But why should anyone say that Ramkalawan himself will be the next one out? The answer to this question is simple. Just look around, study carefully what is happening inside the conglomerate and you will see and understand for yourself.
The pattern is clear. Hardy Lucas was replaced by Maryse Eischler, David Pierre has been replaced by Annette Georges. Vivienne Soundy has been side-lined. Davidson Barra has been ejected. Ebrona has been effaced. Regina Alcindor is there just for show. Do you see the pattern? When Ramkalawan finally goes, he will go with Gervais Henry, his puppet-show, and after that the Seychelles National Party with be no different from the Mouvman Seselwa Rasin making the clear distinction between the fabricated Seychellois and the real ones - only that the fabricated Seychellois will have a different face altogether.
These are not good times to be on Ramkalawan’s sinking katiolo. I call it a sinking katiolo but others are calling it an implosion of epic proportions. The leader has lost control. The party has lost direction. The only way out is change and like Gaddafi in Libya, Ramkalawan will not go quietly. He will claw around as much as he can.
He is the most avid proponent of a scorched earth policy and before he accepts the internal humiliating defeat, he will try to make sure that either the SNP is shattered into thousands of pieces or there is nothing in the kitty left for it to stand on.
